Terms of Service

LAST UPDATED: JUNE 2026

These terms govern your use of Costara. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. The short version: use Costara honestly, your data stays yours, and verify orders before you approve them.

1. The service

Costara provides software that extracts pricing from vendor price sheets, compares prices across vendors, and helps restaurants place and approve orders. For distributors, Costara provides a marketplace listing where restaurants can see your prices and send you orders.

2. Accounts

3. Plans, billing & trials

4. Accuracy — important

Costara's AI extraction is highly accurate but not infallible, and vendor sheets themselves contain errors, blanks, and "call for price" items. You are responsible for reviewing orders before approving them. Costara is a decision-support tool; final purchasing decisions, and the prices you actually pay your vendors, are between you and your vendors. Savings estimates are projections based on your data, not guarantees.

5. Your content

6. Marketplace conduct (distributors)

7. Acceptable use

Don't reverse-engineer the service, scrape other users' data, upload malicious files, use Costara to violate the law, or resell access without a written agreement.

8. Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Costara is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Termination

You may close your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable. Upon termination you may export your data for 30 days.

10. Changes & contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email or in-app at least 14 days in advance. Questions: hello@getcostara.com.

Note: this is a starting template — have your attorney review before launch.
